INVENTARISASI DAN IDENTIFIKASI HAMA PADA TANAMAN UBI KAYU (Manihot esculenta) DI KECAMATAN PONJONG, KABUPATEN GUNUNG KIDUL, YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Pests are current problem that is always present in agricultural activity including cassava cultivation. However, there are no studies that report the types of pests attacking cassava plants, especially in Gunung Kidul area, as the central production of cassava in Yogyakarta. This study aims to identify the types of pests in cassava cultivation and determine the distribution of pests at the study site. The study was conducted by survey method in three villages in the District of Ponjong including Bedoyo, Karangasem and Kenteng village. Pest sampling was carried out using a purposive sampling method and each village was represented by three plots. Pest sampling is done by direct sampling (direct collection) and using traps (sweeping net and yellow pan trap). The results showed that there were 99 species of pests in cassava plantations which belong to 47 families and 8 orders. The most pests found are Paracoccus marginatus, Pseudococcus jackbeardsleyi, Ferrisia virgata, Bemicia tabaci and Tetranychus urticae. The distribution of pest species can be found in all three villages and there are also some pest species that are only found in certain villages.
