      Abstract
      Lipstick or lip colorant is a cosmetic product and its function is to give colour to the lips artistically so that it can beautify the make-up but it may not cause irritation to the lips. Lipstick is a common used product for women because lips considered as an important aspect for most women. Lips are the organs of the body that often exposed to polution and unconsciously can causing paleness and blackness on the lips, therefore we need an antioxidant on lipstick. This research is done by extracted purple rosella with maseration method and etanol 96%. The thick extract of the maseration is used as an active agent to made a lipstick. On this research, there are 4 formulas of the lipstick; 1st formula (without enhancer), 2nd formula (propylene glycol 100%), 3rd formula (oleic acid 100%), 4th formula (propylene glycol 50%, oleic acid 50%). On this research we also done the physical test and antioxidant activity test for the lipstick. The results are lipsticks are easily applied, stabile, and the colour of lipsticks are purplish red to brown. The highest melting point resulted from the 4th formula; 53oC, the highest pH resulted from the 4th formula; 5,15; and the percentage of antioxidant activity test are 20,56% for the 1st formula; 73,37% for the 2nd formula; 79,65% for the 3rd formula; and 75,86% for the 4th formula.
