Abstract
Acrylic recin is a material that is used universally for denture base. Material
of acrylic recin have the aesthetic qualities needed, with a relatively cheap price and
easy to manipulate. The disadvantage of acrylic recin is that it contains. Therefore,
to resolve the problem of the unpleasant smell of acrolain in acrylic recins, a
deodorizer is needed which is able to reduce the aroma of acrolain in acrylic resins
such as clove leaf essential oils.
This study aims to determine the effect of soaking duration of clove leaf
essential oils on the tensile strength of acrylic resin plates.
Plates of acrylic recin was soaked in clove leaf essential oils for 7 days
(Group A), 14 days (Group B), 21 days (Group C). Tensile strength test using a
universal testing machine.
Long immersion in clove leaf essential oils affects the water solubility of
self-cured acrylic recin plates.
