The study was conducted to determine how the representation of female characters who appear in the movie Ghostbusters 2016, saying four female ghost hunters named Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Erin Gilbert (Christian Wiig), Jillian Holtzman (Kate McKinnon), and Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones). The characters inherent in four women are independent, brave, strong, clever and tough. They are very brave to play guns used to capture and kill the evil ghosts. This research uses the type of qualitative research using semiotics methods.
