| dc.description | This thesis will discuss the efforts made by Human Rights Watch in advocating for the human rights issues faced by the Uyghurs in Xinjiang, China. This issue stems from the Chinese government's policy which is considered to have taken the rights that should be owned by the Uyghurs. The advocacy carried out by HRW is an effort to put pressure on the Chinese government for its policies towards the Uyghurs using international powers. This scientific work tries to prove the influence of the NGO’s actor, HRW in its involvement in this issue by using the Transnational Advocacy Networks strategy proposed by Margaret E. Keck dan Kathryn Sikkink. Strategic efforts are being made namely through the Information politics strategy and the Accountability politics strategy. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Skripsi ini akan membahas tentang upaya yang dilakukan oleh Human Rights Watch dalam mengadvokasi adanya isu HAM yang dihadapi etnis Uyghur di Xinjiang, China. Isu ini bermula dari adanya kebijakan pemerintah China yang dinilai telah mengambil hak-hak yang seharusnya dimiliki oleh etnis Uyghur. Advokasi yang dilakukan oleh HRW ini merupakan satu bentuk upaya untuk menekan pemerintah China atas kebijakannya terhadap etnis Uyghur dengan menggunakan kekuatan internasional. Karya ilmiah ini mencoba untuk membuktikan pengaruh aktor NGO HRW dalam keterlibatannya dalam isu ini dengan menggunakan strategi Transnational Advocacy Networks yang dikemukakan oleh Margaret E. Keck dan Kathryn Sikkink. Upaya strategi yang dilakukan yakni melalui srategi Information politics dan strategi Accountability politics. | en_US |
