Abstract
Background: The failure of endodontically treated teeth restoration evaluation is caused by periapical lesion and inadequate post. It showed that comprehensive evaluation such as clinical and radiographic evaluation are needed to observe the healing of endodontically treated teeth and intra-radicular post condition.
Purpose: The purpose of this research to evaluate clinical and radiographic success of endodontically treated teeth restored with single crown restoration using non-metal post in RSGM-UMY.
Method: This study was designed conducted as a cross-sectional descriptive observation of evaluating endodontically treated teeth. The samples were collected from medical records of endodontically treated patients, then categorized based on criteria of treatment outcome. 72 Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The frequency distribution is used to analyze data from this study.
Results: Clinical and radiographic evaluation of endodontically treated teeth restoration with non-metal post showed that 63.9% of teeth categorized as uncertain. Evaluation results also showed that the post that mostly used is fiber post (61.1%). Restoration of endodontically treated teeth with a single crown and non-metal post used mostly in maxillary central incisor (54.2%). Based on gender, female patients are the most often restored with a single crown and non-metal post (52.8%). The age group of 17-25 years old patients is also the most often restored with a single crown and non-metal post (61.1%).
Conclusion: Endodontically treated teeth restoration with non-metal post outcome in RSGM-UMY is uncertain.
