PENGARUH CARA PENGELASAN MIG DOUBLE LAYER DENGAN PENCEKAM PADA SATU SISI DAN DUA SISI BAHAN AA5052 TERHADAP CACAT POROSITAS
Abstract
The construction industry uses the MIG welding method to connect parts to one another. The material commonly used is the type of AA 5052 because besides being lightweight, it is also resistant to corrosion. How to find out whether the quality of the weld is good or bad is done by NDT. Radiographic tests, macro and micro porosity defect tests are part of the NDT. Radiographic tests to determine existing internal defects, while the macro and micro porosity tests are to find out the details of these defects including their size.
The size of the aluminum plate is 400 mm x 150 mm welded with the aid of a clamp on one side of the specimen and a clamp on both sides of the specimen, speed variations of 6 mm / s, 7 mm / s, 8 mm / s. The parameters used in welding are I = 130 A, E = 22 V. After being welded, radiographic tests and macro and micro porosity defects are performed.
Radiographic test results of MIG AA 5052 double layer welding with the help of strangler on one side and strangler on both sides have a type of distributed porosity and clustered porosity. The most dominant defect in both types of welds is porosity, then the macro structure and micro porosity are tested. The results of the welding test with a choke on one side of the variant speed of 6 mm / s with porosity per unit area of 2.21 porosity / mm² as the best results, while for welding with the help of choke on both sides the best results are in the speed variation of 7 mm / s with porosity per unit area of 3.14 porosity / mm².
