HUBUNGAN STRES KERJA DENGAN TERJADINYA OBESITAS PADA GURU DI SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 1 SALAM
Abstract
Background: Work stress is a condition caused by the environment, physical demands, and social situations that cause a person to be angry, emotional, and depressed. The teacher is one of the aggregates of workers who cannot escape from stress problems. The workload due to the many demands of work and duties and responsibilities causes the teaching profession to be vulnerable to stress. Stress can support the occurrence of obesity caused by changes in behavior and metabolism.
Research Purposes: This study aimed to investigate the correlation between work stress and obesity in teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam.
Research Method: The data collection technique used by total sampling method. The type of research was descriptive correlation. The study sample consisted of 63 teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam. The research instrument used the work stress questionnaire developed by researchers who have tested CVI and validity and reliability. The statistical test used employed the Spearman-Rank correlation analysis.
Results: The results of this study showed that there was no significant correlation between stress and obesity in teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam, the strength of the correlation was very weak with the score obtained p=0, 157 (p > 0,05) and r= -0, 180.
Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between work stress and obesity in teachers at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Salam, with the negative correlation neans that the more a person experiences stress, the lower the IMT value, or otherwise.
