GAMBARAN KEJADIAN KEGAWATDARURATAN MEDIS SINKOP PADA TINDAKAN PENCABUTAN GIGI DI RSGM UMY PADA TAHUN 2018
Abstract
Background: In the practice of dentistry can not avoid the occurrence of medical
emergencies that may be life threatening. Syncope is most common medical emergency
that found in dental practice. Syncope is a transient loss of consciousness due to
cerebral hypoperfusion. Syncope has psychogenic and non psychogenic factors as
predisposing factors. Syncope most often occured in dental extraction procedures.
Aims. This study aims to describe the incidence of medical emergencies of syncope in
the tooth extraction procedures at RSGM UMY during 2018.
Metode. This study used an observational descriptive method. The data were collected
using a retrospective study. The population and sample used medical records of
patients who extracting their teeth at RSGM UMY in 2018 with a total sample of 1242.
Analysis of the data in this study was descriptive analysis in the form of frequency
distribution.
Results. The results of this study indicate that the incidence of syncope in the tooth
extraction procedure at RSGM UMY in 2018 are 5 incidences (0.46%). The occurences
of syncope only in the pre-syncope stage.
Conclusion. Based on the results in this studies, it can be concluded that the incidence
of medical emergency of syncope in the tooth extraction procedure at RSGM UMY is
low.
