dc.descriptionLatar Belakang : Karies gigi merupakan masalah terbesar yang dihadapi penduduk Indonesia dan negara - negara berkembang lainnya pada bidang kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Prevalensi karies di Indonesia mencapai 80%. Anak tunanetra berisiko mempunyai status kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang lebih buruk dibandingkan anak dengan penglihatan normal karena kurangnya visualisasi untuk memahami dan menguasai teknik praktik kebersihan gigi dan mulut pada anak tunanetra. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil Caries Risk Assessment pada anak tunanetra di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta. Metode: Dalam penelitian dilakukan Caries Risk Assessment menggunakan metode dari American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry yang berupa pertanyaan dalam bentuk kuisioner yang ditujukan kepada orang tua atau wali dan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan intraoral pada anak yang didalamnya termasuk pemeriksaan laju alir saliva. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional deskriptif dengan desain cross-sectional dan diakukan pada anak berkebutuhan khusus tunanetra di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta yang berjumlah 17 orang. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkkan bahwa anak tunanetra di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta sebanyak 76.5% memiliki tingkat risiko karies yang tinggi, 5.9% memilki tingkat risiko karies yang sedang, dan 17.6% memiliki tingkat risiko karies yang rendah. Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar anak tunanetra di SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta bmempunyai tingkat risiko karies yang tinggi.en_US
dc.description.abstractBackground: Dental Caries is the biggest problem that faced by the population in Indonesia and other developing countries in the field of oral and dental health. The caries prevalence in Indonesia reaches 80%. Blind children are at risk of having a worse oral and dental health status than children with normal vision due to lack of visualization to understand and master the techniques of dental and oral hygiene practices in blind children. Objective: This study aims to determine Caries Risk Assessment in blind children in SLB 1 Bantul Yogyakarta. In the research conducted Caries Risk Assessment using the method of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in the form of questions in the form of questionnaires addressed to parents or guardians and followed by intraoral examination in children which included examination of salivary flow rate. This study is a descriptive observational study with cross-sectional design and was carried out in children with special needs blind people in SLB 1 Bantul Yogyakarta as many as 17 people. Results: The results showed that 76.5% of blind children in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul Yogyakarta had high caries risk levels, 5.9% had moderate caries risk levels, and 17.6% had low caries risk levels. Conclusion: Most blind children in SLB 1 Bantul Yogyakarta have high caries risk levels.en_US
