PREVALENSI GANGGUAN KLIKING TMJ PADA PERAWATAN ORTODONTI DENGAN PENCABUTAN PREMOLAR PADA MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN GIGI UMY
Abstract
Orthodontic treatment is a treatment that addresses the problem of malocclusion, one of which is crowding. The method that is often done by orthodontic experts is by removing premolars. The result of this method can be caused by one of the temporomandibular joint disorders characterized by clicking.
This research is a descriptive observational study in which the subjects of the study were undergraduate students of UMY dentistry consisting of 31 people with fixed orthodontic user criteria with premolar extraction.
The results of this study state that from anamnesis examination there were 51% of respondents who experienced interference clicking, whereas in clinical examinations there were 77.4% who experienced interference clicking.
