Social media enables government to discover events in real time, and forecast public opinion. This study presents a system prototype for measuring public opinion from News channels, Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) and social networking sites, including Facebook. The proposed system aims to improve communication between government officials and ordinary citizens about service delivery. The proposed system applies event-driven simulation to accelerate the processing speed, and thus provides a better solution for measuring public opinion.en_US
