GAMBARAN HARGA DIRI PADA REMAJA KORBAN BULLYING DI SMA NEGERI 1 KASIHAN YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background: Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood with
various growth characteristics and emergence of developmental responsibilities that can
cause strains on self-esteem for adolescents, such as low self-esteem. This phase in life is
interpreted as a time of fear or worry in very threatening situations. Notably, this is
related to the bullying behavior of teenagers to their contemporaries and is commonly
demonstrated through acts of intimidation, ridicule, and social marginalisation. It also
demonstrated though verbal denigration and humiliation, thereby leading to low selfesteem
to the victim.
Research Objective: The purpose of this study was to research self-esteem in adolescent
victims of bullying at SMAN 1 Kasihan
Reseach Method: The method of research used descriptive quantitative. The subjects of
this study were 92 Class 1 senior high school students. Data collection techniques used
were purposive sampling carried out with Rosenberg’s specified bullying questionnaire
and self-esteem questionnaire (Rosenberg self-esteem).
Results: The results of the study found that the level of self-esteem in victims of bullying
in the category of Normal.
Conclusion: The victims of bullying are mostly aged 16 years with the category normal
and low self-esteem is also dominated by the age of 16 years.
