      Abstract
One of the safety issues that occur in the hospitals is the abduction of babies which has increased evey year. It was very concerning since everyone deserves to get health and safety services in the baby's room. Therefore, there is a system which has created a baby room safety that uses several components such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Passive Infra Red sensor (PIR), magnetic switch sensor, GSM / GPRS SIM 900 module , buzzer, and a mobile device that receiving a warning short message service (SMS) to the nurses and security. So, the function of the system itself is make nurses and security easier to control the baby’s room. In addition, the making of this tool is also intended to maximize the utilization of SMS communication media with the AT-Mega 328 microcontroller. There is a trial that has been done by calculating the distance if the sensor can detect and send SMS to 3 mobile numbers. From the system probation, it can be produced that RFID card can be read by RFID reader with a maximum distance of 3 cm in a parallel position (horizontal), and a maximum of 2 cm in a vertical distance. Then in sending SMS, the average time to receive an SMS is about 11.5 seconds and there is a slight delay in receiving SMS for about 7 seconds because of the unstable network. In addition, the PIR sensor can detect up to 3 meters, and the magnetic sensor can detect an open door with a 2 cm distance.
