COMPUTERIZED PHYSICIAN ORDER ENTRY PADA SISTEM INFORMASI RUMAH SAKIT: Metode Systematic Review
Abstract
Background: “To err is human” stated by Institute of Medicine showing the
abundance of medication prescription errors which compromises patient safety
and exaggerates health care cost. These errors could be prevented by the use of
health information technology such as Electronic Medical Records, that can
streamline, simplify, and unify patient care.
Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the use, types and development of
CPOE and CDSS in Hospital Information Systems
Method: Systematic review, researchers arranged the keywords, then conducted
a search with 4 databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, EBSCO, dan ProQuest) from
that databases. The screening was conducted starting from the title, then based
on the abstract, then finally the full paper. Researcher also looked at whether the
journal was Scopus-indexed or not, then 40 journals were reviewed.
Result: 40 journals that were stated to be included in this analysis, grouped by
study site, whether one-center or multi-center. 26 journals are one-center. From
40 journals, only 2 types of CPOE that are shared by different hospitals and only
3 types of CDSS that are shared by different hospitals. Both CPOE and CDSS
are mostly a commercial program.
Conclusion: This study found that the hospitals already used the CPOE and
CDSS, but in different types of that, most of the system is commercially
purchased, and there is no explanation of the presence of a trusted institution
that controls the production and the development of CPOE and CDSS.
