PERBANDINGAN EFEKTIVITAS ANTARA PSIKOEDUKASI DAN EDUKASI TERHADAP DERAJAT DEPRESI PADA PASIEN DIABETES MILITUS
Abstract
Background: Long-term care that must be undertaken by
patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) is very difficult to control
effectively, so it is important to pay attention to psychological
aspects in addition to the physical aspects of patients that are
often overlooked by health workers. Interventions needed by
health workers today are psychoeducation using teraupetic
communication techniques. right. Therapeutic communication is
needed in intervening in individuals with DM. Objevtive :
Knowing the comparison between the effectiveness of
psychoeducation and education on the degree of depression in
patients with diabetes mellitus Method : The research method
used in this study is quasi-experimental (Quasi Experiment) with
the Two group pretest-posttest design model. The sampling
technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive
sampling technique. A sample of 30 respondents was divided into
15 respondents for the education intervention group and 15
respondents for the psychoeducation intervention group.
Psychoeducation interventions and education carried out for 2
weeks with 2 meetings for 30-40 minutes. The degree of
depression is measured using BDI (Beck Depression Inventory).
Bivariate analysis using Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney analysis.
Results: There is a significant difference in the degree of
depression between before and after psychoeducation and
therapeutic communication techniques with a p value of 0.008 (>
0.05). There was no significant difference in the degree of
depression between before and after education with a p-value of
0.564 (<0.05). There was a significant difference in the degree of
post-test depression between the education group and the
psychoeducation group with a p-value of 0.037 (<0.05).
Conclusion: There is a statistically significant effect of
psychoeducation therapy with therapeutic communication
techniques on the degree of depression in DM patients, so this
therapy can be recommended as one of psychotherapy in
reducing the degree of depression in DM patients
