The primary data source were Al-Qur’an and Indonesian Republic Religious Ministry interpretation, induction was the analysis technique.
The research result is as follow: firstly, Al-Qur’an and Indonesian Republic Religious Ministry interpretation explains that fitrah is the righteous religion, which is the religion of Allah SWT. The righteous religion, in this case, is Islam because it is accordance with human beings’ fitrah. Islam itself is a fitrah religion because it accommodates human beings to devote to God. Furthermore, Islam guides human to have appropriate worship as stated in Al-Qur’an Surah al-Rum (30):30. Secondly, human beings need religion. Human will live a meaningful life as long as they own a religion, religion shall control human’s morality. Religion directs people to always be aware and be self-cautions (Al-Qur’an Surah al-Rum (30):30).
Thirdly, Islamic education is the education whose aim is to develop students’ potential in order to be faithful, fearful to God, noble, healthy, knowledgeable, skillful, independent, and responsible. Therefore, the fitrah interpretation is accordance with the principle of Islamic education, one of them is the ta’abbud principle, which means the tendency to have an organized life, the tasyri’ principle, which is the foundation to pose good attitude and behavior; logic principle, which means thinking rationally towards life and natural phenomena. The interpretation is also accordance with the goal of Islamic education, which is ma’rifatullah and being fearful to Allah. Additionally, the interpretation is inline with the concept of children young learners’ education, education environment, and educational institutions, such as within the trio center of Islamic education: family, school and society.
