The research on " Identification and Distribution of Weed on Samas Sandy Coastal, Bantul, DIY" was conducted at Samas sandy coastal, Bantul, Yogyakarta from November to December 2014. This research aims to get the types and distribution of weeds in Samas sandy coastal in recognition of the types and characteristics of weeds in fields Samas sandy coastal. The research was using method of survey, that the implementation techniques using the analysis of vegetation and interviews. Vegetation analysis to determine the dominant weed species, determine sample plots observation and further to identify weeds, observed variables in the identification of weeds is weed density, weed frequency, weed dominance, summed dominance ratio (SDR) and the coefficien of community (C). Data from the analytic vegetation in the form of quantitative data were further analyzed using analysis of variance. Interviews were conducted to obtain information about weed control that usually done by farmers in Samas sandy coastal. The results of the research showed that weeds dominant in peppers, eggplant, corn and peanuts and dominant weeds on Samas sandy coastal was narrow-leaved weeds, including weeds class C4, i.e. Eleusine indica L, Cyperus rotundus Cyperus Digitaria ciliaris iria and effectively controlled by preventive, technical culture, mechanical and biological.
