PENGEMBANGAN KAPASITAS PEMBANGKIT LISTRIK TENAGA UAP BERDASARKAN POTENSI BATUBARA DI KALIMANTAN TENGAH
Abstract
Lack of the means of power generation plants to meet electricity needs everyday this is a major problem that exists in Central Kalimantan. The main power plant in Central Kalimantan at the moment is Diesel Power Plant. This is not very efficient because in addition to its fuel is relatively expensive electricity it generates is also not too big. Therefore in the region of Central Kalimantan is still often the case a power outage cycle through. To overcome these problems, very precise alternative is to switch from the previous main electricity generator Diesel Power Plant into Steam Power Plant. In this study the objective to be achived is to conduct an analysis of the potential and capacity of coal production in Central Kalimantan as well as the calculation and analysis of coal to meet need for power plant. The benefits of this research is twofold can find a large electric energy generated by the use of coal fuel and if these studies are completed that can be used by companies to switch from diesel to steam power plant. Steam power plant was choosen as the main source of power generation fo Kalimantan coal has the potential source of sizable. So to get the coal supply is not difficult and the electricity generated by the steam power plant is greater than the power produced by diesel. From analysis shows that in 2024 diesel power plants generate 340,5 GWh of electric energy while the power plant produces electricity that is larger 1046,9 GWh. Because coal in Central Kalimantan much on exports, the production of coal must be further improved as the year 2015 in the amount of coal produced 3,36 million tons and exports amounted to 3,36 million tonnes. While the need for the generation of power plant in Central Kalimantan requires 0,13 million tons so they have to import

0,13 million tonnes. So that met all the needs of coal in 2015 should be increased to 3,49 million tonnes.
