      Abstract
      The realization of an effective health service is based on the practice of collaborative healthcare professionals, which is competent and capable to work in the service. Effective health service can reduce the incidence rate of medication error. One of the competence to support is the communication skills between the health professions. Interprofessional Education is a learning program that provides an opportunitiesin a practice at the level of communication skills which become an important component in the creation of an effective interprofessional healts services.This study aims to determine The Level of Interprofessional Communication Skills of Pharmacy Students and Nursing Students in Interprofessional Education’s Learning of Medicine and Health Sciences Faculty Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University. This study used descriptive design with cross-sectional approach. Sampling technique using non-probability sample in accidental sampling. The sample are 100 students consisting from 50 of Nursing Profession, and 50 students of undergraduate Pharmacy major that has fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Collecting data through questionnaires, which refers to the Interpersonal Communication Inventory (ICI). The analysis of data was performed based on the categories in the score of the questionnaire obtained communication skills. The results of the study showed that the level of interprofessional communication skills of pharmacy students and nursing students in the Interprofessional Education’s learning program of Medicine and Health Sciences Faculty Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University has a “good” category which is 69%. Communication components in the questionnaire that needs to be improved is component of attention and the capacity to deal with the differences (enough category) and the power (less category). The conclusion from this study is that the level of interprofessional communication skills of pharmacy students and nursing students in interprofessional education’s learning of Medicine and Health Sciences Faculty Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University has a “good” category.
