      Abstract
      Background. Tooth loss can cause anatomical, physiological, and psychological changes. The changes can be overcome using dentures. Mostly the base of dentures are made from acrylic resin which have micro pores that can make food left-over, yeast or bacteria piled up. Mucosal inflamation often happen because of Candida yeast. Kinds of Candida that often found in oral cavity such as Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida krusei, Candida tropicalis, and Candida dubliniensis. Purpose. The aim of this research is to describe oral candidiasis in people with dentures in Yogyakarta. Research Method. This is an descriptive observational study using cross sectional research design. The samples of this study are 81 denture users in Yogyakarta.This study was conducted on November 2015 until January 2016. The instrument used are a set of diagnostic tools and examination sheet. Result. Analysis used were statistical descriptive. The result of study shows that the highest prevalence of oral candidiasis are the erythematous candidiasis there are 38 peoples (49,35%), meanwhile the lowest prevalence are the Chronic Hyperplastic candidias there are 2 peoples (2,60%). Conclusion. The conclusion of this study erythematous candidiasis has the highest prevalence of oral candidiasis caused by poor oral hygiene on denture users, insufficient treatment, and rarely take of the denture.
