Abstract
Background:Afebrileseizureisaneurologicdisorderthatmostoftenencountered
childrenandaffectsabout4% ofchildren.Boysmoreoftensufferfrom febrile
seizures to the incidentthan girls.Approximately 30% to 40% ofchildren
experiencedonerelapse.Febrileseizuresoccur10%ofchildrenbetweentheagesof
9months-5yearswithanaverageonsetof14-18months,withtheincidencerate
ofabout3-4%.Febrile seizures can have serious consequences such as
neurologicaldeficit,epilepsy,mentalretardation,orachangeperilaku.
Objective:theobjectivethisstudyistodescribethelevelknowledgepediatricnurse
offebrileseizures.
Methods:This study used a descriptive quantitative non-experimental.The
samplingtechniqueusingtotalsampling.ThisresearchwasconductedinJuly-
Augustwithrespondents38pediatricnurses.
Results:Theresultsshowedthatthemajorityofrespondentsaged31-40yearswith
17respondents(44.7%),femalegenderasmuchas38respondents(100%),lenght
ofworkis5-10yearsasmanyas15respondents(28.9%)andthemajority
respondeneducationlevelisD3asmanyas31respondents(81.6%).
Conclusion:ThelevelknowledgepediatricnurseoffebrileseizuresinRS PKU
Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping and RS PKU
