Abstract
seen from the harm caused by smoking and also from data
obtained, researchers interested in knowing the factors that affect the return of
the smoking behavior.
Objective: the research aims to understand the in-depth description of factors
affecting the return of the smoking behavior in particular to understand the
influence of environmental factors, psychological and socio-economic status
against the return of the smoking behavior.
Methods: this study used a qualitative research method in the form of an in-depth
interview with the phenomenological approach. Qualitative research i.e. research
conducted to obtain answers or information about the opinions and feelings of
someone who allows to get things that implied about the attitude, confidence,
motivation and behavior of individuals. The approach used in this study is
phenomenology research, namely focusing on the discovery of the facts regarding
the experience of someone who had quit smoking
Results and discussion: the results of the in-depth interviews from 7 informants
have experienced the period of relaps or repeating the behavior of smoking after
more than 3 months to stop, indicates that there are several factors that affect
them, there are environmental factors, psychological, addicted and motivation.
The factors that most affect the time of relaps was environmental factors, the two
biggest factors that affect the time of relaps is psychological factors then the
factors addicted and motivation.
Conclusion: there are psychological and environmental factors influence against
the return of the smoking behavior. As already described in the results and
discussion. There is no socio-economic status influence against the return of
smoking behavior, but there is a revelation of informants mentioned that one of
the factors that causes smokers in Indonesia because prices very affordable
cigarette.
