TRANSFER NITROGEN KACANG TANAH (Arachis hypogaea, L.) PADA TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays, L.) YANG DIBUDIDAYAKAN SECARA TUMPANGSARI DI LAHAN KERING UNGARAN
Abstract
A research entitled "Transfer of Nitrogen from Peanut (Arachis hypogaea, L.) to Maize (Zea mays, L.) which planted with Intercropping" was conducted at dryland of Ungaran Central Java from December 2015 up to April 2016.
This research was done using an experimental method with single factor, arranged in completely randomized block design. The treatments were monoculture system of corn (J), monoculture system of peanut (K), Corn was planted two weeks after peanut (TS 1), peanut was planted two weeks after corn (TS 2), and corn and peanut were planted in intercropping system (TS 3). Each treatment was repeated 3 times.
The results showed that the transfer of nitrogen from peanuts to corn was occured when the corns were in the stage of maximum vegetative growth. In this research, Treatment TS 2 is the best planting time than other treatments as indicated by the results of 4.02 tonnes maize per hectare.
