dc.description | This research aims at exploring the pre-service teachers’ perception about students’ misbehavior faced when they participated in the internship program as well as the strategies used to handle those misbehaviors. Qualitative descriptive design was employed in this study. There were six participants and they were selected by using purposive sampling. The data were collected through semi-structured and one-on-one interview with the participants. To get detailed information, this study employed follow up questions. The findings of this study indicated that the participants faced various misbehaviors. These misbehaviors were categorized into four categories (verbal interruption, off-task behavior, physical movement intended to disturb, and disrespecting to teacher and students). Moreover, motivational problem was found in this study because it was a recurring problem. The participants had various strategies to handle students’ misbehaviors. These strategies were non-verbal intervention, verbal intervention, situational assistance, moderate response, combination strategy (non-verbal, verbal, and situational assistance), and other strategies. | en_US |
