There were 58 clinical students in dental hospital of muhammadiyah university of yogyakarta who did not graduate yet. The amount of clinical students that did not graduate yet was causing quality decrease for university. An inexact graduation time give bad impact for the university and the students. Objective : The objective of this research was to find out the resisting factors that affecting the exactness graduation time of clinical student in dental hospital university of yogyakarta. Methods : This research was a qualitative study using Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method. The subjects were 33 clinical students ranged from 2004 until 2008 year of study. One group consist of 6 until 7 clinical students, which discussion time was about 45-60 minutes. In a month period, there was one discussion session per day. The sampling technique was using a total sampling. Data presented in the form of frequency distribution and qualitative analysis. Result : The result of this reaserch showed that factors resisting the exact of graduation time were personal matters (100%) and expenses (57%) while the external factors were patient factors (100%), supervisor factors (87%), information management system (SIM) factors (84%), requirement factors (69%) and facility factors (51%). Conclusion : The internal factors that played an important role in resisting the graduation time were personal matter and expenses while the external factors were patient factors, supervisor factors, information management system (SIM) factors, requirement factors and facility factors.
