dc.description.abstract | Disaster nowadays becomes one of the issues that gain more attentions, in which there are many suffering that have to be encountered related to the occurrence of disaster, among others fatalities, loss of material and property, destructions of facilities and infrastructure, environmental damage, and economic losses. Malaysia is one of the disaster-prone regions in Asia. Even though it lies just outside “the Pacific ring of Fire”, there are some natural hazards that occur in Malaysia, such as flood, landslide, haze, forest fire, tsunami, cyclonic storm, seismic activity, and epidemic. Furthermore, there is rising of natural hazards in the worldwide, including in Malaysia. Accordingly the government has to be able to manage the disaster to reduce its impact and they should be able to utilize the disaster to create a positive effect on the growth of intensive cooperation among states. This thesis aims at examining the disaster management of Malaysia that can be used in order to increase the international cooperation among individual, organization, or state. Therefore, it analyzes how the disaster diplomacy of Malaysia as an instrument to enhance international cooperation. | en_US |
