The Convention on the Rights of the Child as an international treaty drafted by the United Nations and issued by its member states constitutes an agreement that guarantees the rights of the child as a reference to bringing about a decent life for children throughout the world. Therefore, the Convention on the Rights of the Child opposes any treatment that violates the rights of the child, one of the things that violates the right of the child to be focused in this paper is child marriage. As a form of approval of international treaties, Indonesia ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Then transform it into the law applicable in the jurisdiction of Indonesia. To guarantee the rights of children, the government changed the Convention on the Rights of the Child into Undang-Undang Tentang Perlindungan Anak, then the law became a reference for other derivative rules to handle child rights abuses, including child marriages. The marriage of children in Gunungkidul District, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Province became one of the areas with high amount of child marriage, but the amount keeps deacreasing after the policies related to child marriage are published by the Government of Gunungkidul District.
