ANALYSIS OF CONFLICT BETWEEN THE CORRUPTION ERADICATION COMMISSION AND THE POLICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA
Abstract
This research focused on the dynamics and polemics of conflict of Corruption
Eradication Commission and Police of the Republic of Indonesia in the megacorruption
case of driving license simulator in 2015. This study analyzes the factors
of causing the conflict between state institution and recommendations for
government. The purpose of this research is to understanding how Corruption
Eradication Commission and Nation Police’s authority should be implemented and
prevents the overlapping in the future, as well as providing solutions as a
recommendation for the government to consider. By these conflicts found the state
losses ranged from 121 billion, with another impact is the formation of unequal
public opinion. The result of this research is that the authority conflicts between the
KPK and the police, included into the Destructive and Horizontal conflict. According
to the type of organizational case, this conflict becomes Conflict between state
institutions. Furthermore, it can be concluded that this conflict is a Political conflict
between national units. The causes of conflict between KPK and the police are lack of
communication and coordination, bad structures that makes bad system of checks and
balances, and other personal variables, such as interest.
