KEEFEKTIFAN APLIKASI ANDROID “KANJI MEMORY HINT 2” DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA DAN MENULIS KANJI
Abstract
Kanji is one of the Japanese letters. To be able good skills of Japanese
language, the basic level Japanese learner must comply four demands of language
skills. The four demands of language skills are listening skills, speaking skills,
reading skills, and writing skills. In the process of learning Japanese at school, the
Japanese latter especially kanji Japanese letter is quite difficult for a student to learn.
Therefore, the authors conducted research on the effectiveness of media. The media
in this research used ‘Kanji Memory Hint 2’ android app to improve kanji reading
and writing skills.
The method of this research is quasi-experimental design with one group
pretest-posttest design. The sample was 15 student in semester II of Japanese
Language Education of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta academic year
2017-2018. The instruments used are pretest, posttest, and questionnaire.
Based on the date analysis, the value at 6.115. T table at 2.04 on significance
level of 5% and 2.76 to 1% significance level. The results obtained that t value is
greater than t table at a significance level of 5% (6.115 > 2.04). This shows that the
usage of application as media is effective in learning kanji. In addition, based on
data analysis of the questionnaire, the respondents give a positive response to use
of application.
