Communication is one of the human activities which is known by everyone. Therefore, to support such communication, humans are required to be able to master the language for their survival in interacting with other humans and growing the knowledge. In reality there are obstacles faced such as one's condition when having deaf. The notion of deaf is a person or individual experiencing a lack or loss of listening ability, either partly or wholly resulting from the ineffectiveness of some or all of the sense of hearing. The objective of the study was to describe the equivalence of the deaf people with the normal people in the community of Magelang Deaf Comunity (MDC). The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive research. In this study, the interviewed parties were the deaf and the normal friends who were the members of the Magelang Deaf Community. The findings showed that the informants understand the equivalence of communication as a willingness of the community to be able to overcome barriers when communicating with the deaf. The findings data of the equality conducted by the community of Magelang Deaf Comunity (MDC) were: First, the willingness to help each other became an interest for deaf people to join the community. Secondly, the pattern of equality through the willingness to respect each other. Third, the pattern of equality through the commitment of the cooperation was the willingness of normal friends to master the language used by the deaf, share information with the deaf, willingness to carry out activities in the community together. Fourth, the pattern of equality through the willingness to praise each other between the Deaf and the normal friends in the Community of Dealing Comes (MDC) was known that all the speakers said that the lack of willingness to give praise. The finding provided the uniqueness of research results where equality was demonstrated by informants not only to remove communication barriers at that time only but also to communicate equally to eliminate the view that deaf was a deficient creature
