The epidemiology of nosocomial infection such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B highly increased. It is necessary to control nosocomial infection. To control nosocomial infection, a universal precaution is performed. One of effective strategy for controlling nosocomial infection is to improve knwoledge, attitude, and behavior of health workers. The purpose of this study was to determine of the effect of needle-sticks use education on paramedic’s attitude. Methods: This study used quasi-experimental method with non randomized control group pretest and posttest design. The sample of this study were 30 paramedics on non-hospitalization in health center Gedongtengen and Kotagede I, Yogyakarta that were devided into 15 paramedics in each group for control group and experimental group. Education intervention was given to experimental group. Sample were collected using purposive sampling technique and data were collected using questionnaire. Result: The result of statistical test showed that there was significant difference on paramedic’s attitude between pretest and posttest score in experimental group (p=0.002), but not significant in control group (p=0.257). Conclusion: Education had significant effect of increasing needle-sticks use attitude on paramedics in experimental group compared with paramedics in control group (p=0.001).
