Abstract
Although Turkey has signed and ratified various
international treaties on women’s rights, significant setbacks
in socio-economic and political access for women still persist.
This research seeks to explore the phenomenon of nongovernmental
organization, notably the resurgence of women
movements and women associations in contemporary Turkey.
This present study aims to explain the different role and
determined agenda taken up by Turkish women NGOs working
in increasing women’s participation in public sphere,
especially in economic and political sector in order to improve
women’s life and attain gender equality.
