PENGARUH ASPAL CAIR DAN POTONGAN KARET BAN BEKAS TERHADAP PENURUNAN LAPISAN BALAS
Abstract
The ballast layer is a common conventional structure of the railway track
used in Indonesia, due to it is easy to maintenance, to build and low costs of
maintenance compared to slab track. In this study it is used four types of
specimen, which were using crumb scrap tire and bitumen materials. The
percentage of crumb scrap tire and bitumen was 10% and 3%. The method used
for experiment was the compression test to evaluate the deformation, abration and
elastic modulus. The result indicated that ballast with crumb scrap tire has lowest
stiffness compared to the three other samples. The crumb scrap tire increases
deformation up to 9,12 mm with stress was found to be 77,72 kPa. However it
decreases the abration of materials into 0,6% and elastic modulus of 81,6% from
reply without mixture. Ballast without modification produces a deformation 5.72
mm with stress of 196,59 kPa and elastic modulus of 9907,64 kPa
