Abstract
This study aims to : (1) find out the dynamics of single parents due to divorce parenting style with the dynamics of single parent due to death parenting style; (2) identify the style differences of single parent due to divorce parenting style with single parent due to death parenting style; (3)find out the factors that influence the dynamics of single parent due to divorce parenting style with the dynamics of single parent due to death parenting style.
In this study, research used qualitative descriptive research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis used the data collection techniques, data classification, data reduction, data triangulation and temporary conclusions.
The results of the study are (1) the dynamics of single parent due to divorce parenting style with the dynamics of single parent due to death parenting style have their own styles. Single parent due to death divorce applies democratic style with method of exemplary and method of habituation. While single parent due to death applies permissive parenting. (2) There are differences in the dynamics of single parent due to divorce parenting style with the dynamics of single parent due to death parenting style. Through method of exemplary and method of habituation, single parents due to divorce nurture their children to become more independent and mature in facing all the problems of life. They hope that the failures that have occurred in their parents will not be experienced by their children. While single parents due to death nurture their children in a permissive way because they are driven by excessive love and fear of losing again so that parents always try to make their children happy by fulfilling their desires. This method finally makes children be spoiled and behaves as they wish. (3) factors that influences the dynamics of single parent due to divorce parenting style with the dynamis of single parent due to death parenting style are; (a) economic faktor, (b) parent education factor; (c) community environmental factor; (d) child cha
