Media information demanded to provide news as fast as possible so that make the editor urge to report news quickly rather than pay attention to the accuracy. This research aims to know the process of creating data journalism, especially in Beritagar.id as data-based media, as contrast toward fake news because it used numeric data and statistic that prioritize accuracy. It also aims to know the applications of data journalism within Beritagar.id during January – March 2017. The methodology used for this research is qualitative descriptive study using indepth interview with deputy editor in chief and data journalist of Beritagar.id, also use documentary study towards news during January – March and presented graphically. According to the results of this research, it can be found that the creating process of data journalism in Beritagar.id started from preliminary research done by editorial team before editorial meeting to decide which theme and data to be published. Then, the process is data collecting process that collected from primary data sources or secondary data sources, data cleaning process that uses spreadsheet-based application to clean million datas, then data analyzing process that decide the angle of story and write the articles that also pay attention to its data’s type wheter descriptive or explorative. The data later presented in data communicating process that pay attention to the graphic type between bar charts, line charts, pie charts, or maps. Apart from those main process, Beritagar also pay attention to the reducing & combine process and storing & retrieving process. This research also shows that Beritagar apllied data journalisme as much as 157 news which is 13 news per week, 1-2 new(s) per day, or as much as 7,2% of all news.
