      Abstract
      In case of distributing proper electrical power, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) have some policy to serve electrical service equally, and capable to supply all the need of consumers. From that matters, PLN will give sanction if power/capacity factor is under 0,85. The purpose of this sanction is to prevent energy wasted relentlessly. In this research, the main purpose is to analyze the calculation of capacity of capacitor to increase the power factor and also define active filter capacity to reduce harmonic in new building of Panti Rapih Hospital of Yogyakarta based on available load. This reaserch tried to fix the factor capacity in the newest building of Panti Rapih Hospital of Yogyakarta which previously was 0.73 became 0.9. the amount capasitor used was 450 kVAR, and was capable to minimise reactional capacity so then it can maximise the active capacity by simulating it with ETAP 12.6.0 software. Harmonical current which is resulted by an AC load is approximately 683. to reduce an impact that happens to Harmonical current from AC load is usinh a active filter with 720 A capacity. the purpose of using this 720 A capacity is to keep the electrical components from huge damage fue to gigantic Harmonical current.
