      Abstract
      Parking is a facility needed for an activity center that has high activity. It needs to be balanced with an increase in services and parking facilities. In the Malioboro area it cannot be parked anywhere so it is difficult to find parking spaces. Abu Bakar Ali Yogyakarta Parking Park, one of the parking centers, is quite crowded to accommodate vehicles going to Malioboro, Yogyakarta. The purpose of this study was to analyze the capacity and demand parking, and to compare the capacity and parking demand. In addition, it was agreed to the concept of Intelligent Transportation System to manage parking spaces better. This research was conducted for 2 days observation on weekday and weekend from 08.00 - 20.00 WIB, by recording the identification number of motorcycle entering and exiting the parking space. The results of this study showed that the maximum accumulation on holidays were 403 vehicles while the workday were 231 vehicles. Motorcycle parking volume on weekends 1240 vehicles and on weekdays 574 vehicles. The static parking spaced needed was 1261 motorcycle and demand parking were 3869 vehicle/hour. The comparison showed that the available supply is less than the parking demand. Moreover the availability of parking spaces information cannot be accessed properly and quickly. Therefore Intelligent Transportation System application is needed for manage parking and provide information needed for more efficient parking.
