The Correlation Education about HIV Aids and Knowledge and Attitude of HIV Aids of the Adolescent in Muhammadiyah 7 High School of Yogyakarta

Background: HIV/AIDS is one of the global emergecy issues. HIV/AID has not cleared in any country yet. Since the first cases of HIV/AIDS were reported in Indonesia in 1987, the number cases of HIV/AIDS is increasing rapidly. These data indicate that young age, 15-29 years old are the most vulnerable population and need to be targeted in HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.
Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze correlation education about HIV/AIDS and knowledge and attitude of HIV/AIDS of the adolescent.
Method:This study was a Quasy experiments with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample of this study uses purposive sampling with 30 respondents in experiment group and 31 respondents in control group. The data was analyzed by Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney. Collecting data through a questionnaire.
Result: The result in this study showed that in experiment group, the value of knowledge was p = 0,001 (p<0,05), while value of attitude was p = 0,020 (p<0,05). In control group, the value of knowledge was p = 0,980 (p>0,05), while value of attitude was p = 0,179 (p>0,05). The result showed that in experiment group there was a significant difference, while in control group there wasn’t a significant difference.
Conclution: The conclusion of this study is there is correlation between HIV/AIDS education toward knowledge and attitude of HIV/AIDS on adolescent.
