      Abstract
      Off-label drug emerges after doctors and other researches find other indications and doctors have prerogative right to prescribe the drugs for the new indications, Pharmacists are responsible to oversee prescriptions used by patients and make sure that all drugs including that the off-label drugs prescribed are safe, then handed correctly. Off-label dose drug is administered at a dose that not comply with the doses licensed on marketing authorization. The objective of the research was to find out the amount of off-label dose drugs used on inpatient adult patients at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital. This research is an observational research using descriptive cross-sectional design. The research was conducted from August 2014 to May 2015 at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital. The data collecting of off-label drug prescription was conducted retrospectively. The method used in the sample collecting was systematic random sampling on distribution of drug data on January-December 2014 medical records. The data was analyzed descriptively. The research was conducted from August 2014 to May 2015. The total number of the sample that met the inclusion criteria resulted from the research was 356. The usage of drug at PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Hospital was 864 on-label dose drug (94.12%) and 54 was off-label dose drug (5.88%), the off-label dose use of the highest is digestive system (42.59%).
