      Abstract
Since the last three decades, transformational leadership theory has acquired the interest of many researchers in the discipline of organisational leadership. This theory was established by Burns (1978) and later augmented by many other researchers. The main foundation of the transformational leadership theory is the leader’s aptitude to stimulate the follower to accomplish more than what the follower planned to accomplish. This study focused on the main components of transformational leadership namely, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. However, for this study Islamic perspective was added to this research. This addition is mainly because of that, in the light of new literature on the leadership in Islam, it was found that most of the teachings of Islam embodies many of the concepts of modern leadership theories which are transformational in nature.
