Caries and periodontal disease is the main causes of tooth loss. Tooth loss is a big problem because it can interfere the function of the teeth and cause a migration and rotation of the remain teeth and make it abnormal. The interproximal space which is derived from changes of teeth position cause the gap between the teeth and the food easily get impacted there and easily form a plaque. The purpose of this study was to describe the health status of periodontal tissue (plaque indeks) in pre-user removable partial denture patients at RSGM UMY based on gender. This study was conducted by secondary data from medical records of pre-user removable partial denture patients at RSGM UMY on periode time april 1st 2014 – 31th 2015. There were 61 sample that fulfill the inclusion criteria. The result from 61 sample showed that the average value of total plaque index in this study is 38,47%. The female average value of plaque index is 36,47% and for the male average value of plaque index is 40,2%. Based on the result of this study, it can be concluded that health status of periodontal tissue (plaque indeks) in pre-user removable partial denture female patients have a better result than male.
