PERBEDAAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA KG UMY TAHUN PERTAMA SEBELUM DAN SESUDAH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA AJAR “TOOTH MORPHOLOGY BOARD GAME”
Abstract
Background: As a foundational course in the preclinical dental curriculum,
dental anatomy introduces students to the anatomical and morphological characteristics
of human permanent and primary dentition. One of the achievements of
dentistry students at primary level is that students gain basic dental knowledge to
identify teeth, recognize and diagnose dental anomalies, and treat or manage
dental pathology, which is a basic knowledge in all aspects of dental practice.
From the pre-research data that has been obtained, the percentage of OSCE
graduation on the basic dentistry block in the dental identification station at UMY
is only 65.48% for the generation of 2013, and 58.08% for the generation of 2015.
This is considered to be less considering dental morphology is a basic science
must be understood by prospective dentist. The research objectives: To know the
differences in level knowledge of dentistry students UMY of 1st years before and
after the use of teaching media“Tooth Morphology Board Game”.
Methode: This research is done by giving pretest and posttest questions on
dentistry student of UMY 1st year before and after play the game.
Results: From 30 samples, 27 samples (90%) experienced an increase in pretest
and posttest values, and 2 samples (6.67%) decreased pretest and posttest, and 1
sample (3.33%) did not increase or decrease in pretest value and posttest. The
average value of pretest value of 59.56 and the average posttest value of 73.16.
