| dc.description | There are many homosexuality themed movies in American movie
industry. Love is Strange is one of the movies which has homosexuality theme in
America. In this movie, the homosexuality illustrated in some conditions, such as
their existence are difficult to accepted in religion and their civil authority for
obtaining a proper home. This research used narrative analysis technique of
Algirdas Greimas type which used two analysis structures, namely the structure of
theanalysis born models actants and structure of the inner oposisi binary.
Greimas analogized the narrative as a structure of meaning, like a sentence that
consist of words, each word has its own position and function. The findings of the
research showed that Love is Strange movie presents homosexual or gay as the
main focus of Social Acceptance in society. In this movie, homosexual or gay who
did homosexual marriage will get rejection and acceptance in society. They will
not easy to get a job and complicated to get a job. Even the formerly supported
family become slightly disturbed of their existence. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Film bertemakan Homoseksualitas telah banyak mewarnai perindustrian
film Amerika. Salah satunya adalah Film Love is Strange yang mengangkat tema
mengenai Homoseksual di Amerika Serikat. Homoseksual dalam film ini
digambarkan bagaimana keberadaan mereka masih sulit diterima baik secara
agama maupun hak sipil seperti memperoleh tempat tingal yang layak. Penelitian
ini menggunakan teknik analisis naratif model Algirdas Greimas yang
menggunakan dua struktur analisis, yaitu struktur analisis lahir model aktan dan
struktur analisis batin oposisi biner. Greimas menganalogikan narasi sebagai
struktur makna, seperti sebuah kalimat yang terdiri atas rangkaian kata-kata, yang
setiap kata memiliki posisi dan fungsinya masing-masing. Hasil penelitian ini
menunjukan bahwa film Love is Strange menampilkan Homoseksual atau gay
sebagai sorotan utama Social Accptance (penerimaan) di masyarakat. Dalam film
ini, Homoseksual atau gay yang melakukan pernikahan sejenis (Same Sex
Marriag) akan mendapatkan penolakan dan penerimaan (Social Accaptance) di
masyarakat. Mereka akan cenderung susah untuk mendapatkan pekerjaan dan
dipersulit dalam memperoleh pekerjaan. Bahkan keluarga yang sebelumnya
mendukung menjadi sedikit terganggu atas keberadaan mereka. | en_US |
