dc.description.abstract | Background: Concentration has a highly crucial role in learning process such as when listening to explanations, understanding the given materials, and completing the tasks given to achieve maximum learning results. There are some factors affecting an individual’s learning concentration and having no self-motivation is one of them. Motivation is highly needed and has an important role in learning since motivation can encourage someone to conduct the learning process that behavior changes can happen to achieve the expected goals.
Research Objectives: To find out the correlation between learning motivation and learning concentration on School of Nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY).
Research Method: This research was a quantitative with correlational design showing the correlation between learning motivation and learning concentration. The research design used cross-sectional approach. The research population used Proportional Stratified Random Sampling as the sample collection technique. Research data was collected using an instrument that was questionnaire. Data analysis was used Spearman Rank statistical test.
Research Result: Statistical test result shows that learning motivation in good category of 45.9% and fair category of 45.1%. Meanwhile, learning concentration that is in good category is 7.7%, in fair category that is 87.6%, and in poor category that is 7.7%. Spearman rank analysis result shows the significance value (p) that is 0.007 (p < 0.05) meaning that there is a correlation between learning motivation and learning concentration.
Conclusion: There is a correlation between learning motivation and learning concentration on nursing students at School of Nursing UMY. | en_US |
