DAMPAK PENERAPAN KEBIJAKAN ENERGI ALTERNATIF BIOFUEL DI UNI EROPA TERHADAP KRISIS PANGAN NEGARA GUATEMALA TAHUN 2012-2014
Abstract
This article tries to evaluate the sustainability of relation between European Union and Guatemala Country pasca European Union applying biofuels renewable energy policy in this region. It is started from European Union willingness to decrease the dependency of using fossil fuel and CO2 emission gases in the atmosphere, following the Kyoto Protocol regulation by using biofuels as the way out. Unfortunately, this decision had brought EU to the food crisis and caused EU looking for other countries which are potential as a biofuels partner. Along with this decision, EU found Guatemala as one of potential partner to full fill their needs in bioethanol. After several years work together, dependency happened in Guatemala which caused food crisis. Thus, Theotonio Dos Santos argued that dependency favors some countries to the detriment of others and limit the development possibilities of the subordinate economics.
