This study sees a narrative built on the “Senyap” documentary that tells the survivors of the victims after the G30S incident. The film directed by Joshua Oppenheimer, which premiered in Indonesia on November 10, 2014, takes the standpoint of two parties, the first of whom are the ones who support the PKI crackdown and the second is the ones who do not support the PKI crackdown. This film is interesting to study because it displays people who are PKI or who are considered PKI and Executioner simultaneously in one film. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research type, and data analysis used is narrative analysis Tzvetan Todorov which has been developed by Lacey and Gillespie and using analysis from Algirdas Greimas with data analysis technique in the form of narrative structure, narrative element, model of aktan and rectangular opposition. The findings of this study can be concluded that the form of survivors in the film “Silent” narrated by filmmakers as a way to recover the debate between perpetrators and victims of G-30-S/PKI crush in 1965.
