dc.descriptionThe present study aimed to find out the students’ problems in doing quizzes and to discover the strategies to face the students’ problem. This research was conducted at English Education Department of UMY. This research employed qualitative research approach. The researcher collected the data using the interview. The instruments of this study were interview guideline, tape recorder or mobile phone to record the participants’ answer. The researcher also used Indonesia language during the interview. There are three English students of UMY as participants, consisted of the participant that has high, medium, and low GPA. Then, techniques of data analysis were open-coding, axial-coding, and selective coding. The result of the data analysis showed that students’ problems when doing the quiz, include students did not understand about the material in the quiz, lack of time allocation, slow internet access, students lack of knowledge about the application, and students’ high anxiety when doing the quiz. Then, strategies to face the students’ problem were learning the material that has be delivered by lecturer, predicting the question of the quiz, students go to the good internet access area, asking friend about application of quiz, speaking practice, reading the material more that has be given by the lecturer, and. The conclusion of this research is the students’ problems can be overcome by many strategies.en_US
