PENGARUH EDUKASI TENTANG PEMAKAIAN MASKER TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP PARAMEDIS DI PUSKESMAS NON RAWAT INAP GAMPING I DAN SEWON II
Abstract
Background: The incidence of tuberculosis (TBC) in healthworkers in developing
countries reaches approximately 69 to 5,780 per 100,000 people each year
depending on the location of work and jobs. Meanwhile, Influenza suffered by
nearly 50% of health workers every year. One of the efforts to prevent and
minimize the incidence of tuberculosis, common cold, and infections transmitted
through the air, droplet or sprinkling of body fluids are use of mask and apply the
cough ethic and respiratory hygiene. Knowledge and attitudes about use of mask
and cough ethic and respiratory hygiene can be obtained by education and
training program. They are associated with decreasing the spread of infection and
the incidence of respiratory tract infections in healthworkers.
Method: This study is an analytic quantitative study that uses Quasi Experimental
design with non randomized control group pretest posttest design approach. The
samples in this study are 32 peoples consisting of 16 respondents in the treatment
group and 16 respondents in the control group. The assessments are using
multiple choice knowledge questionnaire and attitude with likert scale and the
result is analyzed by using Wilxocon and Mann-Whitney test.
Results: The Wilcoxon analysis test showed that there is a significant difference
between pre-test and post-test knowledge (p = 0.007, <0.05) and attitude (p =
0.003, <0.05) of respondents in the treatment group and the control group. Based
on the result of Mann-Whitney test on the change of knowledge and attitude score,
the value of significance is p = 0.032 (<0.05) and p = 0.015 (<0.05) which means
that the respondents who have been given treatment in the form of education have
increased the score of knowledge as much 81.2% and attitude of 87.5% in the
treatment group.
Conclusion: This research can be concluded that education about use of mask
influence to knowledge and attitude of paramedic at Puskesmas Gamping I and
Sewon II.
