PENGARUH AUDIOVISUAL PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN TERHADAP PERSEPSI REMAJA MENGENAI MANFAAT DAN HAMBATAN PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN HIPERTENSI
Abstract
Hypertension or increased blood pressure is often referred to as a silent killer because it usually does not show signs and symptoms are quite meaningful. So almost most people do not realize if they suffer from hypertension. Based on data from Riskesdas in 2007 it was found out that the prevalence of hypertension incidence of population with age 18 years and over in Indonesia is 31,7%. DIY province itself is one of the provinces whose hypertension prevalence is higher than the national rate of 35.8%. Because of the increasing prevalence of hypertension in adolescence, it is necessary to preventive action. Among them is to change the wrong perception among adolescents about hypertension. So the purpose of doing this research to determine the effect of health education on adolescents perceptions in efforts to prevent hypertension can be achieved.
Experimental tests were performed on 96 respondents with age of adolescents ie 10-19 years. The research was conducted by pre test and post test on each variable that is benefit and obstacle through giving questionnaire. Data analysis using descriptive method to know the description of respondents. Then the test of quantitative analysis using Mann Whitney and Wilcoxon.
The influence of health education through audiovisual media toward adolescent perception about the benefit of hypertension prevention behavior is found p> 0,05. Likewise, the variable obstacles prevention behavior of hypertension, obtained p> 0.005. Although there was a change in perception score from poor to good to the respondents, it was not statistically significant.
The use of audiovisual media as a health education has not been able to provide a significant effect on changes in adolescent perceptions about the benefits and barriers of hypertensive prevention behavior.
